The Andrews Valley Initiative, known around the Valley as AVI, presents this web-site to keep you upated on the progress AVI is making
on fulfilling its mission and its objectives.
In 1987, local citizens first established initiatives that focused on the revitalization of downtown Andrews and the valley in which the town
lies. Over the years, these goals fell by the wayside. In 2003, in response to local citizens' requests, Jerry Pullium and Lee Nichols formed
AVI, a not-for-profit corporation, whose goal is to breathe new live into these original initiatives.
At the first meeting, over 100 citizens examined the needs, assets, and aspirations for the town. Specific groups were formed to undertake a
list of objectives. Tasks deemed to be more appropriately suited for handling by the Andrews Chamber of Commerce were dropped from the list.
AVI, led by Jerry, Lee, and a dedicated founding group, continue to represent most of the present AVI Board of Directors. AVI centered its
efforts on the trails and greenways program.
Since then, a far more comprehensive vision of AVI's role in the Town of Andrews, and in the valley at large, has been undertaken. Please
browse through this site to learn about some of the goals we have for this wonderful town.
